First you can learn new words by making flashcards. It will help you a lot. Second you can learn grammar by taking notes. When you take notes in class you must be careful enough so that you can make sentences using the grammar you are learning. And there are also a lot of things you can do to improve you English such as reading English magazines listening to English songs practicing English conversations with you deskmate.
